The Shire of East Pilbara invites Expressions of Interest from suitable organisations for the occupation, activation and, where appropriate, further development of the existing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu clubhouse at North Newman Reserve. The proposed lease area is approximately 720 m² and is intended for sporting club and community use, or another compatible use that delivers demonstrable benefit to the Newman community.

The Shire of East Pilbara and the Newman Lions Club announces that the 2026 Outback Fortescue Festival will take place from Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026, at Capricorn Oval, Fortescue Avenue in Newman. The event is expected to draw around 2,000 residents and will feature live music and a fireworks display.

The Principal invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and licensed contractors for preliminary selection to participate in a restricted Request for Tender process for appointment to a Demolition Services Panel.

The Shire of East Pilbara (Shire or SoEP) invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to undertake a Social Impact Assessment and develop a Social Impact Evaluation Plan for the Newman Youth and Community Hub Project. The successful Consultant will be required to deliver a multi-year assessment and evaluation framework that aligns with industry best practice and satisfies the requirements of the Shire, its external funding partners, and the community.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to design, fabricate and install seven (7) entry/exit signs throughout the Shire’s local government area boundaries. It proposed that the signs will be delivered in two sizes i.e. large (3.2m wide x 4m high) and small (2m wide x 2.6m high).

Change of Meeting Location Notice is given in accordance with regulation 12(2) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 that the location for the Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 28 August 2026 has been changed from Kunawarritji to the Newman Council Chambers.

The Shire of East Pilbara wishes to advise that the 2026 WA Day Festival will be held at Emu Oval in Newman from 3pm to 8.30pm on Sunday 7th June 2026. The event will feature live music and culminate in a fireworks display at approximately 8pm. Please note there will likely be increased traffic in the area and elevated noise levels due to live music and the fireworks display.

Shire of East Pilbara Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates 2026/27 In accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of East PiIbara gives notice of its intention to impose the following differential rates and minimum payments on rateable property for the 2026/27 financial year.

The Shire of East Pilbara hereby gives notice of its intention to temporarily close the following thoroughfare to vehicular traffic for the 2026 ANZAC Day Dawn Service. The closure is required to ensure the safe conduct of ANZAC Day Dawn Service and associated community activities.

Notice is given in accordance with regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 that the Shire’s Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 24 April 2026 start time has been changed to 12pm.

Local Public Notice is given of the proposed disposal of land in accordance with section 3.58(3) of the Local Government Act 1995, by the Shire of East Pilbara by way of a Lease in the following terms: Property: A portion of Reserve 44775 being land more particularly described as Lot 571 on Deposited Plan 71045 and being the whole of the land comprised in Crown Land Certificate of Title Volume LR3161 Folio 365.

The Shire of East Pilbara proposes to make the “Shire of East Pilbara Fencing Local Law 2026”. The purpose of this local law is to introduce a discretionary approval mechanism enabling the Shire to consider industrial dividing and boundary fencing that do not comply with clause 2.10(3) and (4) of the Shire of East Pilbara Fencing Local Law 2011.

Local public notice is hereby given that the Shire of East Pilbara Draft Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan 2026-2031 is available for public comment. Comment must be received by the Shire of East Pilbara by 1 April 2026.
