Pursuant to section 5.4(a)(i) of the Local Government Act 1995, I give notice of a Special Meeting of the Council to be convened on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 at 2.00pm to be held in the Newman Council Chambers.

The Principal invites Offers from suitably qualified and licensed Suppliers for the supply and delivery of water treatment chemicals and testing consumables.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to design, supply, construct, test, commission and hand over recycled-water infrastructure for the East Newman Corridor Greener Initiative. The Works comprise recycled-water reticulation and irrigation infrastructure, together with a minimum 100 kL recycled-water storage tank, pump station and associated compound works. The two Separable Portions may be awarded separately or together.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from suitably qualified, experienced and competent Contractors to undertake the playground equipment removal, replacement, installation, maintenance, repair, painting, protective coating, associated civil works, reinstatement, testing, certification and handover requirements at the nominated playground locations across Newman, Western Australia.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to prepare a comprehensive Airport Master Plan that will establish a long-term strategic vision for the development of Newman Airport over the next 20 years. The Airport Master Plan will assess existing infrastructure, operational capacity, land use, regulatory compliance, environmental considerations, and future aviation demand to identify opportunities for staged development and investment.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from suitably qualified, licensed and experienced Contractors for the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of new LED sports lighting systems for Goanna Oval, Newman, Western Australia.

The principal invites Offers from suitably qualified and licensed Contractors for road repair works associated with Tropical Cyclone Zelia (AGRN1185). The Works comprise repair and reinstatement of cyclone-damaged road infrastructure at approved locations across various Shire roads, including pavement and formation, drainage, floodway, shoulder, batter and erosion repairs, together with associated traffic management, quality assurance and DRFA recordkeeping requirements.

The Shire of East Pilbara has received a development application for a retrospective change of use for a “Tourist and Visitor Accommodation” (Use not Listed) at Lot 100 (HN. 17) Skull Spring Road, Nullagine.  In accordance with Clause 66 (1) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 (Deemed Provisions), the Shire of East Pilbara has referred for agency comments and advertised to adjoining landowners for comment.   

The Shire of East Pilbara invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the design and construction of irrigation and reticulation upgrades at Capricorn, Kangaroo, Emu and Goanna Ovals in Newman.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Expressions of Interest from interested parties to utilise the land, Newman Lot 2347, Windell Location 139 on Land Administration Plan 18627. Crown Land Title No 3082/645 and being a portion of Reserve no 44387 vested in the Shire of East Pilbara.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from Consultants who are suitably qualified and experienced to undertake the planning, concept development, storyboarding, digital modelling, 3D integration, and delivery of an Interactive Virtual Walkthrough. The final product must be professional, accurate, visually consistent, and suitable for public presentations, community engagement, and online use.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Expressions of Interest from suitable organisations for the occupation, activation and, where appropriate, further development of the existing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu clubhouse at North Newman Reserve. The proposed lease area is approximately 720 m² and is intended for sporting club and community use, or another compatible use that delivers demonstrable benefit to the Newman community.

The Shire of East Pilbara and the Newman Lions Club announces that the 2026 Outback Fortescue Festival will take place from Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026, at Capricorn Oval, Fortescue Avenue in Newman. The event is expected to draw around 2,000 residents and will feature live music and a fireworks display.

The Principal invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and licensed contractors for preliminary selection to participate in a restricted Request for Tender process for appointment to a Demolition Services Panel.

Change of Meeting Location Notice is given in accordance with regulation 12(2) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 that the location for the Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 28 August 2026 has been changed from Kunawarritji to the Newman Council Chambers.

The Shire of East Pilbara wishes to advise that the 2026 WA Day Festival will be held at Emu Oval in Newman from 3pm to 8.30pm on Sunday 7th June 2026. The event will feature live music and culminate in a fireworks display at approximately 8pm. Please note there will likely be increased traffic in the area and elevated noise levels due to live music and the fireworks display.

Change of Meeting Date Notice is given in accordance with regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 that the Shire’s Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 24 July 2026 will now be held on 31 July 2026 at 10.30am to be held in Nullagine.

The Shire of East Pilbara hereby gives notice of its intention to temporarily close the following thoroughfare to vehicular traffic for the 2026 Newman Triathlon. The closure is required to ensure the safe conduct of Newman Triathlon and associated community activities.

Shire of East Pilbara Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates 2026/27 In accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of East PiIbara gives notice of its intention to impose the following differential rates and minimum payments on rateable property for the 2026/27 financial year.

The Shire of East Pilbara hereby gives notice of its intention to temporarily close the following thoroughfare to vehicular traffic for the 2026 ANZAC Day Dawn Service. The closure is required to ensure the safe conduct of ANZAC Day Dawn Service and associated community activities.

Notice is given in accordance with regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 that the Shire’s Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 24 April 2026 start time has been changed to 12pm.
