Save the Date: Shire of East Pilbara 2024 NAIDOC Ball

The Shire of East Pilbara 2024 NAIDOC Ball is scheduled to take place on Saturday 22 June 2024 at the East Pilbara Arts Centre. This esteemed event promises an evening of celebration and recognition of First Nations peoples, businesses, and organisations.

Anticipated to welcome 200 guests, the NAIDOC Ball will highlight an array of live entertainment, a sit-down meal, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages throughout the night. Commenting on the significance of the event, Shire President Anthony Middleton said, "The NAIDOC Ball represents an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the rich heritage, resilience, and contributions of First Nations peoples."

"It's an event to celebrate diversity and achievements in the community and pave the way for a more inclusive future. Save the date, mark your calendars, and join us in the celebration and achievements of First Nations peoples, businesses and organisations at the 2024 NAIDOC Ball."

The NAIDOC Ball is proudly presented by the Shire of East Pilbara, with support from Onsite, Cleanaway, North West Alliance, and Warrikal.

This year's NAIDOC theme celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced. The fire represents the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations despite the challenges faced. It is a symbol of connection to the land, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

"Blak, Loud and Proud" encapsulates the celebration of Indigenous identity, empowering us to stand tall in our heritage and assert our place in the modern world. This theme calls for a reclamation of narratives, an amplification of voices, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equality. It invites all Australians to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering a society where the wisdom and contributions of Indigenous peoples are fully valued and respected.

Through our collective efforts, we can forge a future where the stories, traditions, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are cherished and celebrated, enriching the fabric of the nation with the oldest living culture in the world.
