Public Notice P001/26 - Retrospective Change of Use - Lot 100 Skull Spring Road, Nullagine

The Shire of East Pilbara has received a development application for a retrospective change of use for a “Tourist and Visitor Accommodation” (Use not Listed) at Lot 100 (HN. 17) Skull Spring Road, Nullagine. 

In accordance with Clause 66 (1) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 (Deemed Provisions), the Shire of East Pilbara has referred for agency comments and advertised to adjoining landowners for comment.   

Proposal Summary: 

The retrospective change of use application seeks to legitimise the current business operations for  a change of use to “Tourist and Visitor Accommodation” (Use Not Listed) at the property. A summary of the proposal is as follows:

• A maximum number of five (5) tourist or visitor guests are proposed to be accommodated at the proposed business;

• There are no staff employed at the business, the owner of the residential property manages the tourist and visitor accommodation and is the only permanent resident (1 person);
• A total of three (3) ensuite rooms (including 1 double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms) are proposed to be used for guest accommodation (refer to room’s 6, 7 & 8 on the attached site plan);
• Three (3) existing rooms are proposed to be converted to storage rooms (refer to room’s 3, 4 & 5 on the attached site plan);
• There is an existing communal kitchen, kitchen storage and laundry facility;
• There are two (2) additional communal toilets and bathroom facilities;
• Three (3) visitor car parking spaces are proposed;
• One (1) spare ensuite room for family who occasionally visit (refer to room 1 on the attached site plan);
• The maximum time period a guest will rent a room in any one (1) year timeframe is for not more than three (3) months.
