Proposed Meeting Procedures Local Law 2019

The Shire of East Pilbara proposes to make a local law relating to local government meeting procedures.

The purpose of this local law is to provide the rules and guidelines for the conduct of meetings of the Council, Committees and electors.

The effect of this local law is intended to result in:

  1. better decision-making at meetings;
  2. the orderly and efficient conduct of meetings;
  3. better understanding of the process of conducting meetings; and
  4. the more efficient and effective use of time at meetings.

A copy of the proposed local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Shire of East Pilbara Administration Centre, corner of Kalgan and Newman Drives, or from the Marble Bar Administration Centre, Francis Street, Marble Bar, between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Submissions about the proposed local law may be made to the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of East Pilbara, PMB 22, Newman WA 6753 by 20 September 2019.
