Reward for conviction
Council wishes to advise that at its meeting on 28 September 2012, Council amended its Policy 4.10 Vandalism – Reward for Conviction.
Vandalism and/or damage to Council property is taken very seriously. For this reason, Council has developed a policy whereby a reward will be paid to any person giving information, which leads to the successful conviction of vandals who have willfully damaged Council property.
The amount of the reward is $1,000 unless the cost of repairing the vandalism is less than $1,000. In that case, an appropriate amount will be set by the Chief Executive Officer. The amount of this reward will be reviewed annually by Council. Council staff and members of the Police Service are not eligible for this reward.
If you have any information regarding damage to Council property, please contact the Shire of East Pilbara Administration Office during office hours on (08) 9175 8000 or the Newman Police Station on (08) 9175 4000.
