The heart of Pilbara community is set to beat with excitement at the Welcome to Newman event, which will be held at Emu Oval on Saturday on 17 February 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:30pm.
The annual event promises an array of family-friendly activities, showcasing Newman's rich local culture. Attendees can look forward to exploring local market stalls, engaging in 'come-and-try' stations hosted by our sporting clubs, delights from food vendors, bouncy castles, including an inflatable water slide, and live music complemented by a local DJ.
Shire President Anthony Middleton said the Shire's is dedicated to organising family-friendly, inclusive events accessible to all members of the community.
"Welcome to Newman serves as an outstanding platform to highlight Newman's diverse attractions," Middleton remarked.
"It's a community-driven event with local market stalls and come-and-try stations hosted by our various sporting groups aimed at fostering new members, volunteers and registrations."
"This free event serves as a wonderful opportunity to unite our community and celebrate the wide array of offerings available to us."
Adding to the excitement this year are two exclusive mine tours of the iconic BHP Mt Whaleback mine. Bookings for the mine tours are essential and available at a discounted rate of $5 for individuals or $15 for a family (including two adults and two children) here. Buses will depart from Emu Oval promptly at 3:00pm and 4:00pm.
The Welcome to Newman event is proudly presented by the Shire of East Pilbara, with support from BHP, Onsite Rental Group and Cleanaway.
