Residential Refuse Collection (Kerbside/Litter/Domestic)
The Shire of East Pilbara offers a refuse kerbside collection to all residential properties within the towns of Newman, Marble Bar and Nullagine.
A 240L MGB and 240L MRB are supplied to each rated property, and serviced on a weekly basis. In summer months (October – April) green bins are collected twice a week, and in cooler months (May – September) once per week.
A recycling bin collection is also included in this service. Recycling bins with yellow lids are collected fortnightly, on a Wednesday.
The town of Newman is serviced on different days depending on which zone the property is located in. (Zone 1 or Zone 2) To see which collection Zone you are in click here.
Domestic Refuse Calendars are distributed to residents annually, free of charge.

New/ Replacement Bins
All residential bins are to remain at the allocated property and are not to be removed if you move to a new property. They are uniquely barcoded and numbered when distributed.
What can't I put in my Green Household Bin? What I can put in my Recycling in?
The bins remain the property of The Shire of East Pilbara and residents are held liable for any loss or damage of bins.
If your bin has been stolen or damaged, you can request a replacement bin or the repair of your bin by completing a request form. Return the completed form to email@example.com . Please note that only property owners and property managers are able to request replacement bins as fees are applicable.

Bulk Verge Collection
To prepare for the Cyclone season, the Shire of East Pilbara will be conducting the annual Bulk Verge Collection from the 2nd - 6th November 2020 (inclusive).
All residential properties within Marble Bar, Nullagine and Newman are encouraged to participate and to utilize this service to remove unwanted loose items from your property.
All household bulk rubbish and green waste is to be neatly stacked on the front verge in separate piles (i.e. all metals, all wood etc.) for collection prior to commencement of pickups on Monday the 2nd of November 2020.

To assist waste and recycling operators in servicing your bin on collection day:
- Do not overfill your bin (50kg max weight)
- Do not place items alongside bin
- On collection day ensure bins are at least 50cm apart from other bins and objects
- On collection day place your bin with the front of the bin facing the kerb
- Do not place bins behind parked cars
- Keep the lid closed to prevent litter
- Wash your bin regularly to prevent odours
- Retrieve your bin from the kerb side assoon as possible after collection to avoid bins being damaged, lost or stolen
