Not-for-profit sport, recreation or community organisations in the Shire of East Pilbara are encouraged to apply for funding for financial assistance to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation.

The Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) was recently announced by the State Government and was developed to provide sustainable infrastructure for sport and recreation across WA. The program aims to maintain or increase participation in sport and recreation with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of good quality, well designed and utilised facilities.

"This is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed for our sporting and recreation groups across the Shire of East Pilbara," said Shire President Lynne Craigie.

"Sports and recreation is a vital part of our region, and always has been. It helps our communities to flourish and thrive by empowering them to be vibrant, healthy and involved. So can I encourage you to make the most of this program and get your applications to us by August 9," she added.

However, it is important that local clubs and sporting associations who have projects in mind, discuss their project with the Shire of East Pilbara prior to lodging an application. Applications are required to be assessed by the Shire and prioritised by Council. To allow this to be presented at the August Council Meeting, applications must be received by 4:00pm Thursday 9th August.

Please contact Hanna Roets (Coordinator Clubs and Events) on 9175 8000  or [email protected] for assistance in this program.  The Policy and Guidelines can be downloaded from the department’s website.
