The 2026 Outback Fortescue Festival has wrapped up after two days of live entertainment, family activities and community celebrations at Capricorn Oval in Newman.

Presented by the Shire of East Pilbara and the Newman Lions Club, the free Festival featured live music, children’s entertainment, carnival rides, food trucks, markets, activities and fireworks across Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August.

This year’s entertainment included Lane Pittman, Keanu Nelson, Drifting Clouds, Fool Nelson, Darren Field, the Outback Karaoke All Stars, the Bluey Live Interactive Experience and DJs Richmore and Viv, with Peter Rowsthorn hosting the weekend.

Shire President Cr Anthony Middleton, who also serves as President of the Newman Lions Club, said it was great to see families making the most of everything the Festival had to offer.“It was great to see so many kids getting into the Bluey Live experience on Sunday, and there was a fantastic atmosphere around the Oval throughout the weekend,” Cr Middleton said.

“Lane Pittman put on a great show on Sunday evening, and we had a really strong mix of performers across both days, including Keanu Nelson, Drifting Clouds and Fool Nelson.

“The Festival is a huge undertaking and I want to thank the Lions Club members, Shire staff, volunteers, contractors, performers and vendors who put so much work into the weekend.

“And of course, thank you to everyone who came along. Seeing so many families and people from across the community enjoying themselves is what makes the weekend worthwhile.”

The Shire acknowledges the support of the WA Government through Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions, BHP Western Australia, Fortescue, Lotterywest, National Group, Cleanaway and North West Alliance, whose support helped make the Festival possible.
