Lou was born in Port Hedland and spent most of her youth in the Pilbara.
She has been a councillor at the shire for 6 years, this is her second term and she has learned so much about local government.
Lou has had an active role on the P&C committees for primary and high school students and been very involved with Newman Netball, T-Ball, Football and soccer and now serves on the WA Netball Board where she represents the interests of the North West Netball community.
Being involved in the sporting bodies in Newman and the Shire council has given her a great sense of community in the town and offered a social outlet for meeting more people and enjoying sport.
Lou has worked for the mining industry and recently transitioned to working for an Aboriginal community controlled organisation. A proud Banjima Ngarluma woman, she works and lives on the land where her family grew up.
