The Newman Rodeo has a long and proud history, having brought the community together for many years prior to COVID. In 2026, the tradition enters an exciting new chapter as Karlayura Rodeo Inc. hosts the event for the first time, proudly affiliated with the Australian Bushmen’s Campdraft & Rodeo Association (ABCRA). This year honours the legacy of the past while ushering in a fresh era of rodeo action in the East Pilbara.

What to Expect in 2026
✔ Full Points Rodeo Competition – Elite riders take on bulls, broncs, barrels, and the arena with grit, skill, and outback determination.
✔ Live Entertainment & DJ Sets – Music rolling into the evening under the desert sky, creating the perfect East Pilbara atmosphere.
✔ Food Vans & Local Eats – A mix of local and visiting vendors serving meals, snacks, and refreshments throughout the day.
✔ Supporting Local & Indigenous Talent – Every ticket helps strengthen Pilbara businesses, Indigenous creators, and community‑led initiatives.
✔ Family‑Friendly Environment – A welcoming event for all ages, with entertainment for kids and edge‑of‑your‑seat action for adults.

Camping options will be available through the Shire of East Pilbara, offering convenient accommodation for visitors travelling in for the event.

Event Awareness & Safety Information To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please note: This is an outdoor event and will proceed in most weather conditions. Prepare for sun, dust, wind, and classic East Pilbara conditions.
The event includes loud noise, livestock, and large crowds. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Alcohol will be served only in designated licensed areas (18+).
Event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove patrons for unsafe or inappropriate behaviour. Conditions of entry apply.
