Community Awards incorporating Thank a Volunteer and Sports Star Awards

The Club Development Program hosts the Stars of the East Pilbara's Community and Sports Awards. This event acknowledges and celebrates the efforts of the East Pilbara's community and sporting groups - volunteers, players, officials, coaches and achievements over the past year.

The State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of  the East Pilbara's Community and Sports Awards in Western Australia. Sport and recreation builds stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.

Nominations are encouraged from all members of the community, with nominees receiving a certificate of recognition for their valued contribution to their sport over the past year and a formal invitation to attend the Community Sports Awards event. Self-nominations are accepted. 

• Nominations are now open across all nine awards categories (criteria) and can be completed online here:

  • Junior Sportsperson of the Year 2022 (For those who are 17 years and under by 31 October 2022)
  • Sportsperson of the Year 2022 (For those who are 18 years and over by 31 October 2022)
  • Umpire/Official of the Year 2022
  • Coach of the Year 2022
  • Sports Volunteer of the Year 2022
  • Sporting Group of the Year 2022
  • Junior Community Volunteer of the Year 2022 (For those who are 17 years and under by 31 October 2022)
  • Community Volunteer of the Year 2022 (For those who are 18 years and over by 31 October 2022)
  • Community Group/Organization of the Year 2022
