Newman Women's Shelter (NWS) and Martu Night Patrol are partnering with BHP, NNCI, HOPE, Newman Futures and The Shire of East Pilbara to kickstart Reconciliation week with a Youth Music Project.
Grand Trine and hip-hop artist Dallas Woods are facilitating the Hip Hop program targeted at young people and youth at risk in Newman from the 22 – 27 May 2023.
The Music Video project has been extremely successful and popular in the Kimberley and Pilbara region.
Participants are guided through an engaging and powerful creative process which is done ‘By Community, For Community’.
Young people explore the key themes around Alcohol and Other Drugs messages to showcase their culture and their identity including stories and connection to country.
Music videos will have a priority on cultural activities, song, dance, ceremony and cook-ups through the project.
The Music Video project is based on the powerful, positive content/resource that is created with high quality production values, uploaded to social media and shared with the world.
