Statement of Business Ethics (Closed)

The Council has endorsed for public consultation a new Statement of Business Ethics, which provides clear guidance on the ethical standards expected when conducting business with the Shire of East Pilbara. The Statement establishes the ground rules for all business dealings between the Shire and its suppliers including, but not limited to, providers of goods and services, contractors, tenderers and consultants. The Statement outlines Council’s core values and aims to increase the private sector’s awareness of, and respect for, these values.

The Statement defines the Shire’s ethical standards and obligations, which all suppliers must be aware of and comply with in their business dealings with the Shire. It also provides suppliers with an understanding of what to expect from the Shire. The Statement outlines the consequences for Council officials and suppliers of not complying with the requirements as outlined.

The Shire invites members of the community and current and prospective suppliers to consider the proposed new State of Business Ethics and to provide their feedback. Submissions should be lodged by 4.30pm on Friday, 23 September 2022 at the Shire’s Administration offices in Newman or Marble Bar, or by email [email protected].
