    Kids Helpline is a free, private and confidential, telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between 5 and 25 in Australia. Counsellors respond to more than 6,000 calls each week about issues ranging from relationship breakdown and bullying to sexual abuse, homelessness, suicidal thoughts, depression and drug and alcohol usage. The helpline service receives more than one million calls per year.

    Newman Day Care Centre opened in 1986 and is a non-for-profit centre offering long day care services to children aged from 0 until they turn 6 years of age. We strive to create an environment where children feel safe, secure and supported so they grow in confidence to explore and learn. A home away from home, warm and welcoming. We are committed to enhancing children's self esteem through daily interactions based on mutually enjoyable, caring and respectful relationships between the educators and the children. Newman Day Care has been assessed by the Education Care and Regulatory Unit and received an overall rating of: "EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS".

  • Save the Children, Solid Families

    Solid Families is a family support program. We also support the community with inclusive events & activities and community group programs. Supporting families by providing: • One-on-one mentoring and support to young people • Group conversations • Parenting information and one-on-one support • Community events and activities Solid Families is for any children, young people and parents in Newman who want to develop healthier family relationships. Our workers provide one-on-one support, working alongside our clients to tackle hard times and find solutions to problems that will make their families more solid. This is a free service designed to help families use their strengths to become better, happier and healthier, so that children and young people will reach their potential and improve their wellbeing. Our Team: We are flexible, adaptable, accessible and respectful. We work with any and all issues that impact on the wellbeing of children, young people, parents and whole families. We participate in Newman’s community life and work collaboratively with other local organisations.

  • The Beach Indoor Play Centre

    The Beach Indoor Play Centre is a community run business catering to the needs of the youth. It’s a great place for parents. The Beach Indoor Play Centre is available for children 0-10yrs, also a great location for your children's party needs and private hall hire available. The Beach caters for children 0-10 years and is located opposite the Newman Police Station. Our entry Fees are $6 per child (under 1 Free) Beach Member or Playgroup Member $4 Private Party bookings available outside of business hours and hall hire is available to community groups/non-for-profits.

  • YMCA Newman Early Learning Centre

    The facility was purpose built by the YMCA in partnership with BHP Billiton Iron Ore in 2009 to support the needs of the local community. The centre has an amazing natural outdoor environment with real grass, trees, vegetable, a flower gardens and chickens, as well as offering a diverse creative arts program. The sense of community and homely atmosphere makes our centre a home away from home. At every opportunity, children are discovering and bringing their learning to life. We offer places for children from birth to 5 years, we only serve nutritious home-style food and we pride ourselves on offering extremely affordable fees. The centre is a member of Remida; a creative reuse centre that supplies recyclable materials to services for children to be creative with and learn about sustainability. YMCA Newman Early Learning Centre is also the base for a range of YMCA’s Family Support Programs, supporting Indigenous families and children in Newman and outlaying communities. We are committed to improving outcomes for Indigenous children and assisting them in successfully transitioning into school.
