We have libraries located in Newman, Marble Bar and Nullagine. We encourage everyone to use the libraries in the East Pilbara to study, read or relax.

The Shire Libraries have a wide variety of books, DVD’s, magazines and a variety of other resources. From children’s books, to biographies from adult fiction to reference books and more. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.

Our libraries also run a variety of programs for children and adults.

Are we open?

The Newman Library will OPEN Monday 18 May 2020, with reduced operating hours.
The Marble Bar Library opens on Monday 18 May 2020 resuming normal operating hours.
Nullagine library will remain closed until further notice. 
The situation is evolving rapidly and we will keep all our members updated on any changes going forward.

Can I become a member now?
Contact the library and we will issue you a membership card and pin to access all of our e-resources and once we reopen you can pick up your library card and borrow books again! 

What if my items are due back?
All current loans will be extended until 30/06/2020

Members can access online resources! 
Use your membership number located on the back of on your library card to access these databases.  You'll also need to use your library pin for access to some resources.  If you do not know your pin, call us on 9177 9600

Kanopy is a video streaming platform delivering one of the largest collections of indie films, classic cinema, festival and educational documentaries and movies online or through an app.  More than 30,000 films and documentaries are available from top suppliers including BBC, Criterion Collection, Ronin Films and Madman Entertainment.
Once selected, each film may be viewed, paused, finished and rewatched over a 72 hour period before requesting again.  Once you are signed in, you can view up to 4 films or documentaries within a month loan period.  These are updated on the 1st of every month. 

OverDrive allows you to download eBooks and eAudiobooks.  There are thousands of books available.  Sign in by selecting Newman Community Library from the drop-down list and typing in your library card and PIN.  You can borrow books to read on your computer, smartphone, tablet or eBook reader.
There's also the option to download the Libby app for android or Apple devices.
BorrowBox allows you to browse and borrow bestselling eAudiobooks and eBooks via the BorrowBox app on your device.
Once you have downloaded the app, choose Newman Community Library, enter your library card number and pin, and click on sign in.

StoryBox Library opens up access to a range of Australian children's literature.  It connects children with literature through the complementary medium of film, providing you with an interactive experience via a diverse range of storytellers, each sharing past and present book titles.
Scroll down to Select a Library.  Choose State Library of Western Australia from the drop-down menu.  Type in your library card barcode and click on Log in.

RBDigital eMagazines provides library members with access to a range of eMagazines delivered right to your desktop or favourite mobile device.


Newman Library
The Newman Library is so much more than a place to borrow books. They host a range of programs including Gumnuts and Storytime, Lego Club, Coder Dojo and the monthly Book Club.

Marble Bar Public Library
Marble Bar Library stocks books and DVD's for young people and adults in both the fiction and non-fiction categories.

Nullagine Community Library
The Nullagine Community Library is managed by the Nullagine Community Resource Centre but is part of the Shire of East Pilbara. The Library is well stocked with many different genres of books and DVD's. New titles are received about every 6 weeks, so there is always something new to read or watch.
