Newman Aquatic Centre is an oasis in the middle of the Pilbara and is a popular destination for residents and visitors of Newman. The pool is open year-round. For up-to-date opening times click here.
With a 50m 6-lane pool and separate Toddler Pool both surrounded by spacious areas of green lawn and plenty of shade, it is a great place to spend the day.
Whether it's escaping the heat or just needing a peaceful place to relax, Newman Aquatic Centre offers more than just a swimming pool.

We are a recognised WATCH AROUND WATER aquatic centre, all children under 5 are free with a swimming adult. Any child under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 16 and all children under 5 must be in arms reach of the adult at all times.
Aquatic Centre facilities
50m 6 Lane Pool
The 50m outdoor pool ranges in depth from 1.1m – 3.52m, with a staircase, ladders and an accessibility hoist. Our 50m pool has lane space available for the dedicated lap swimmer, the swimmer who enjoys a leisurely swim and even a space for the whole family to relax and enjoy the cool water under the ample shade provided by the shade sails that assist in keeping the water cool.
Toddler Pool
With an easy access beach entry, with 2 giant frogs keeping a watchful eye over the pool and spraying nice cool water, this shallow wading pool is the perfect place for the younger members of the family cool off in summer.
Beach Volleyball Court, Basketball ½ courts and Table Tennis
With a full-size beach volleyball court, 2 Basketball ½ courts and table tennis there is always something to do at Newman Aquatic Centre. With equipment available to use free of charge. Just ask at the kiosk.
Playground
Our playground is designed for children to grow, learn and play with shade covering the whole area. With lawn surrounding the playground and even a BBQ in close proximity it makes it an easy area to supervise and the perfect place for the children to take a break from the water.
Free BBQs
Two electric BBQs are available and free for the public to use anytime the pool is open. Making Newman Aquatic Centre a great place for a full day out with the family.
Shaded Areas
There are a number shaded picnic tables and benches throughout the aquatic centre. You can always bring your own or we even some portable tables for use upon request.
Free WIFI
Travelling through town or just need to catch up with family friend or even post photos of your day at Newman Aquatic Centre there is free WIFI available for all patrons at the Newman Aquatic Centre.
Kiosk and Swim Shop
Newman Aquatic Centre’s Kiosk and Swim Shop are open whenever the Aquatic Centre is stocking a range of lollies, ice-creams, cold drinks and hot food options to name a few. Our Swim Shop caters to your needs whether you forgot your goggles or just need an upgrade, there is something in the Swim Shop for everyone.
Equipment Hire
From small inflatables to the larger ones, big blue mats there are plenty of hire options available to enhance your day out at Newman Aquatic Centre.

Newman Swim School
Newman Aquatic Centre also offers a range of swimming lessons for infants through to adults, offering Education Department swimming lessons throughout the school terms for local primary students and VACSWIM through the school holidays, Newman Aquatic Centre has its own Royal Life Saving Society WA endorsed swim school Newman Swim School offering community members an opportunity to further develop their swimming and aquatic safety skills, with our AUSTSWIM and/or RLS Qualified swimming instructors.
Newman Swim School encourages everyone in the community to develop essential life skills through education and awareness around the aquatic environment. Our learn-to-swim program follows the Royal Life Saving Society of WA’s Swim and Survive program and caters for all ages and abilities from babies to adults.
Living in a rural setting with dams, rivers, lakes and ocean, makes learning to swim imperative to keep our children safe. Newman Swim School will give your child confidence and allow them to have fun in the water.
We run weekly swimming lessons year round the school year for all ages, from babies through to adults.
