The Shire of East Pilbara is pleased to announce works are on track for the completion of the Nullagine Aquatic Centre. This new and exciting facility will provide a relaxing recreation area for the community.
The Aquatic Centre will consist of a four lane 25m pool, toddler pool, ablutions, kiosk, change rooms and grassed areas and will be located on Cooke Street, Nullagine.
Shire President Anthony Middleton said, “We have recently completed the earth works and site preparations for the main pool and toddler pool. The Bricklaying is finished, along with the pool base concreting and pool perimeter pipe works.”
“Over the next few months, the fabrication and installation of the plant room building, plant room fit out, fabrication and installation of the change rooms and kiosk buildings and the pool liner will take place. I know the Nullagine community is very excited about the new aquatic facility and Council is pleased to be able to deliver.”
Additionally, a new multi sport complex is also going to be built in town, with a current naming competition underway. The space will have 11 sports options including soccer, hockey, netball and basketball. It will be locate don the corner of Massingham and Gallop Road.
These works represents a multimillion dollar investment in the region and are expected to be completed for both projects in late 2024, with official openings and community celebrations planned.
