Will my responses remain private and confidential?
Yes, your contact details and responses will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence in accordance with the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, and we comply with The Research Society's Code of Professional Behaviour. In 20 years of running this study, we have never had a breach. Retaining your trust and confidence, and caring for your privacy, is our highest priority.
How did we get your details?
You were selected from one the Shire of East Pilbara’s customer databases. Local councils are permitted to share customer contact information with professional research companies for the sole purpose of conducting independent research to assess customer experiences and needs. We are required to delete all customer information on completion of this study.
I received a scorecard in my post box - should I complete it too?
If you received an email invitation and a postal scorecard, please feel welcome to fill out whichever is most convenient for you. You only need to complete one response per person.
Can I share this invitation with other people?
Yes! Please share this message with family, friends, housemates and neighbours who live in the Shire of East Pilbara area. The study is also open to ratepayers, business owners and operators, and people who visit the area for work, study or leisure. We want to hear from as many people as possible who care about what happens in the Shire of East Pilbara now and for the future.
We would be especially grateful if you encouraged any young people you know - aged 14 to 34 years - to have their say. It can be more difficult to reach and engage this group and its important to hear about their experiences and ideas too.
When will the study close?
The scorecard will close on 9 June 2023.
What happens next?
On completion of the study, the Shire of East Pilbara will receive the following information:
- MARKYT Community Scorecard report with aggregated findings, historical trends, benchmark comparisons and strategic insights.
- MARKYT VoiceBank with anonymous free-text comments grouped by service area so that officers can respond to specific feedback and suggestions.
- Database of quantitative responses with identifying information removed (this includes all demographic responses so that individual respondents cannot be identified by a combination of their responses).
If you have questions about this study, please phone Hanna Roets at the Shire on (08) 9175 8000 or email engagement@eastpilbara.wa.gov.au.
