Groundbreaking Ceremony Newman Youth and Community Hub

Past Event

A major milestone for Newman.

The Shire of East Pilbara will officially break ground on the new Newman Youth & Community Hub on Wednesday 20 May, marking the start of construction on one of the region’s most significant community projects.

The Newman Youth and Community Hub will include a community library, youth centre, music recording studio, community meeting rooms, creche and playgrounds, multi-purpose sports court, community garden and seed bank

This project has been made possible through total secured investment of $33,468,874, including:

  • Australian Government via The Growing Regions Program: $15,000,000
  • Western Australian Government : $7,500,000
  • Lotterywest: $4,650,000
  • Shire of East Pilbara: $6,318,874

We acknowledge the significant financial contribution of the Australian Government to this project, alongside the support of the Western Australian Government, Lotterywest, and the Shire of East Pilbara.

The Youth & Community Hub is part of the Shire’s Resilient by Design program, a long-term commitment to building practical infrastructure that strengthens liveability, connection and resilience across the East Pilbara.

From community facilities and recreation spaces through to major infrastructure upgrades, the project is focused on helping communities thrive in one of Australia’s most remote and challenging regions.

We look forward to sharing this milestone with the community as works officially get underway.
