Vandalism and Graffiti Print

The Shire of East Pilbara maintains a zero tolerance approach regarding vandalism and graffiti.
The community incurs personal, social and financial costs as a result of this destructive behaviour.

The Shire of East Pilbara wishes to advise that at its meeting on 28 September 2012, Council amended its Policy 4.10 Vandalism - Reward for Conviction.

Vandalism and/or damage to Council property is taken very seriously. For this reason, Council has developed a policy whereby a reward will be paid to any person giving information, which leads to the successful conviction of vandals who have wilfully damaged Council property.

The amount of the reward is $1000, unless the cost of repairing the damage is less than $1000. In that case, an appropriate amount will be set by the Chief Executive Officer. The amount of this reward is reviewed annually by Council. Council staff and members of the Police Service are not eligible for this reward.

If you have any information regarding damage to Council property, please contact the Shire immediately on 9175 8000 or the Newman Police Station on 9175 4000.
