Volunteering

“Time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain”

Volunteers through their tireless commitment contribute greatly to the social fabric of Australia. At a local level we see volunteers in every corner of our community. The commitment to duties includes but is in no way limited to;

       • Sporting Clubs
       • Recreation Clubs
       • Societies and Associations
       • Training and Education
       • Health, legal and finance
       • Animal Welfare

Wherever we see an event we also see volunteers working tirelessly to make it happen.

Thank A Volunteer Day

The Shire of East Pilbara takes great pride in hosting Thank A Volunteer Awards to recognise the efforts of our community members. Presentation ceremonies for the recipients will occur in Newman, Nullagine and Marble Bar on the 5th December to coincide with International Volunteer Day.

Two award categories exist for nominations;

       • East Pilbara Volunteer of the Year (Marble Bar, Newman, Nullagine & surrounding communities)
       • East Pilbara Youth Volunteer of the Year (Marble Bar, Newman, Nullagine & surrounding
         communities)

We look forward to the local community getting behind this initiative by nominating a worthy volunteer. We know that without them a lot of our events and initiatives would not be the success that they are.

The selection criteria are available on the nomination form together with information on how to submit your nomination.
