Event name: Sewing for Beginners Workshop
Event summary: BOOK YOUR TICKET: Participants will sew a simple skirt and top (produced in their pattern making course). If you didn't attend the course, you will be provided with a simple pattern to cut and sew. The workshop will cover the basics first, how to thread a sewing machine and wind cotton to a bobbin. Then participants will learn how to lay your fabric, use a commercial pattern, cut your fabric and sew a simple garment. The workshop will also detail, how to sew a zip, cut and sew a variety of fabric types, hemming and how to use the overlocker stitch on your machine. Minimum age for this workshop is 15 years old. Please note participants are required to bring their own working sewing machine.

Facilitator: Sharon Gosling is the owner of Sapient Spirit a small Children’s Clothing Boutique based in Port Hedland. Sharon has 34 years’ experience in the dress making field and applies these talents to her business. She understands the importance of deadlines, time management and the need for customers in small and large business.
