In accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations Newman Airport is required to hold an aerodrome emergency exercise every two years to test its response to an aircraft incident or accident affecting the airport. Because the airport is such an important asset for Newman and the Shire of East Pilbara as a whole, it is important that the community get involved where possible to support the many full time and part time emergency response agencies. Therefore, we are asking members of the community to volunteer as ‘casualties’ to help test our emergency response procedures.
