Library and Information Week focuses on sharing information on the diverse range of services and resources that libraries offer to the community, and how to access and use them. This year the focus is specifically the e-resources accessible to all Shire of East Pilbara library members which include online books, magazines, movies and audiobooks which can be accessed via smart phone or computer.
“From 20-26 May, we want to invite our community to discover the range of services and resources accessible at our libraries, especially the amazing e-resources we are now able to offer,” said Shire President Lynne Craigie.
“Make sure to ask library staff about the apps that can help you access the e-resources; it is a very simple process and a great resource–especially for those on stations or unable to drive to their library.
“Most importantly, we would like to encourage all community members to love and enjoy their local library as a place where people from all walks of life can connect and access the huge range of innovative programs and services on offer,” she added.
To win a Kindle, visitors are asked to borrow any of the resources including DVDS, books and education tools and complete an entry form for each item. One loan item is one entry and competitions are running at Newman, Nullagine and Marble Bar Libraries.
Library and Information Week is presented by Australian Library and Information Association.
