Shire launches East Pilbara Dollars Project

The Shire of East Pilbara has launched its 'East Pilbara Dollars' project providing $50,000 to regenerate the local economy by offering incentives to encourage local spending in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project is designed to increase immediate cash flow and generate revenue when shoppers purchase items using gift vouchers – known as 'East Pilbara Dollars' - which will be awarded to community members to spend at selected local businesses.

“We are excited to be introducing a scheme that will stimulate spending at local small businesses after the challenges brought by COVID-19.  The Shire of East Pilbara is committed to getting our economy back on track and I want to ask everyone to take the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic project,” said Shire President Lynne Craigie OAM.

Small businesses in the Shire of East Pilbara are encouraged to sign up for the scheme by May 20 2020. Information about how community members can win East Pilbara Dollars to spend locally will be released soon.
