Nominations are now open for the East Pilbara Community Citizen of the Year awards to recognise and reward individuals and organisations making a notable contribution during the current year, and/or to those who have given outstanding service over a number of years.
"The Shire of East Pilbara is given the opportunity to acknowledge the contribution and celebrate the active citizenship of Western Australians every year during our Australia Day celebrations on January 26th," said Shire President Lynne Craigie.
"At this time of year we seek input from our residents who see first-hand the efforts, contributions and sacrifices made by our fellow community members for the benefit of others. You may know someone whose personal commitment to a community service has made a real difference? Or perhaps there is a organisation who you feel do fantastic work helping members of our community by providing an valuable service? Like you, we want to see these people and/or organisations honoured this Australia Day so please, take the time to fill out a nomination online by October 31st," she added.
The Auspire - Australia Day Council WA, Community Citizen of the Year Awards are presented by Local Government within local communities across Western Australia on Australia Day. Outstanding contribution and community service includes areas such as; education, health, fund-raising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, social inclusion or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of a community.
