Framing the Shire of East Pilbara

3/07/2018
A new photography competition will give local residents and workers of all ages and skill levels the chance to showcase their talents and capture the unique beauty of the East Pilbara region.

The Shire of East Pilbara together with Martumili have created "Frame the Shire of East Pilbara"; a  photography competition and exhibition to showcase the broad range of talent in our region and celebrate the opening of the 2018 Outback Fusion Festival.

"Some of the most magnificent photographs I have ever seen have been taken in the Shire of East Pilbara because the natural beauty and rawness of our region helps to create outstanding images," said Shire President Lynne Craigie.

"If you enjoy taking photos can I encourage you to capture an image of what the East Pilbara outback means to you and share it with us?  Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to enter the competition and we are excited to see your vision of the Shire," she added.

The top 20 entries will be selected by a panel of judges to exhibit at the East Pilbara Arts Centre alongside the acclaimed Martumili artists.

Members of the public will then be invited to vote for the People's Choice Award which will be announced at the Cultural and Creative Industries Forum which is being held at the East Pilbara Arts Centre in late September.
